5F's Festivus DEFINITION:
First / Friday / Full-Weekend / February / Festivus
5Fs PURPOSE: Every year, we celebrate events depicting the Birth of how "The Airing of Grievances" should be dealt with! Our goal is to change Lives for the better, forever, by installing the "horizontal element" onto the "vertical". 2000+ yrs. had to pass before the "Airing of Grievances" could be perfected. "Feats of Strength 1" was not pleasant, the "Head of the Family" appeared to lose, so we could truly win! It is 5FsFestivus' desire to bring lives closer together, sharing fun, friendship and foolishness, that has an unusually magnetic effect. As people are drawn together by this unseen force, something at the same time is being pulled from everyone participating. As the best in everybody is released, we are drawn to each other, and that is not a bad thing. By completing the "First" Festivus Pole through positive action's directed at others, the love we begin to feel will have an expanding effect in each of us! Before long, we will not be able to hold it in!

FESTIVUS HISTORY:
Many Christmas's ago, Frank Costanza went to buy a doll for George.
There was only one doll left and as he reached for it, so did another man.
After struggling for the doll, he thought there could be another way.
The doll was destroyed, but out of that, a new holiday was born.
It was called Festivus. A Festivus for the Rest of Us.

FESTIVUS POLE:
Requires no decoration. Frank finds tinsel distracting. The pole is aluminum tall, silver, hollow, long and skinny.

FESTIVUS AIRING OF GRIEVENCES:
At the Festivus dinner, you gather your family around and tell them all the ways they have disappointed you over the last year.

FESTIVUS FEATS OF STRENGTH:
The head of the family tests his strength against another friend or family member.The great honor is given out to a different person each year. In Seinfeld, Cosmo Kramer was given the honor but turned it down to George Costanza as he had an appointment. Festivus is not over until the head of the family is pinned.
